Post a photo or video of yourself wearing Red Pen Society on Instagram, tag us, and we will send you a shirt of your choosing. Free. We cover shipping.

This is not a raffle and there is no drawing. Everyone who follows the steps below gets a shirt.

How to claim

  1. Wear the shirt. Somewhere real. A classroom, a hallway, the parking lot at 7:15 a.m.
  2. Post it to Instagram as a feed post or a Reel. Stories disappear, and so does our ability to find them.
  3. Tag @redpensociety and use #RedPenSightings.
  4. Keep your account public, at least until we have seen the post. We are not able to verify what we cannot see.
  5. We will DM you within about five business days. Reply with your size, color, and mailing address, and we will ship it.

No students in the frame

This one is not negotiable. No identifiable students, no student work with names on it, no faces in the background.

We would rather have a photo of you in an empty room at 3:40 p.m. than get anyone crosswise with their district. Check your school's policy before you post. That part is on you, and we are asking you to take it seriously.

Say it was gifted

Because you are receiving a free shirt in exchange for posting, the FTC requires you to disclose it. #gifted in the caption does the job, or a plain line like "Red Pen Society sent me a free shirt." Put it where people will actually see it, not buried under fourteen other hashtags.

Posts without a disclosure are not eligible, and we will ask you to add one before we ship.

What we do with your post

By tagging us with #RedPenSightings, you are giving Red Pen Society permission to repost, share, and use your post and the images or video in it across our website, email, social accounts, and paid advertising.

You keep ownership of your content. We will always credit you by handle when we repost. If you change your mind later, email us and we will take it down from anything we control. We are not able to retract advertising that has already run, but we will stop future use.

The fine print

  • One free shirt per person, for life. We track this by Instagram handle and email.
  • You must be 18 or older and have a US shipping address.
  • Any shirt currently in stock in the shop, in your size. Not applicable to gift cards or anything sold out.
  • The post has to actually show the shirt being worn by you. A photo of the shirt on a hanger is a nice photo, but it is not a sighting.
  • We reserve the right to decline anything that is off-brand, unsafe, discriminatory, involves minors, or is clearly gaming the system. We will tell you why.
  • We can change or end this program at any time. Anything posted before the end date still gets honored.
  • Instagram is not involved in this in any way and has not sponsored or endorsed it.
